Golf: The Secret to Sinking More Putts – What the Experts Don’t Know.

Like to sink more putts? Sure. But how?

Well, let’s get some advice from the touring professionals. After all, their living depends on it so they should know.

Jordan Spieth (winner US PGA, US Open, British Open) tells us to keep staring at the hole when we putt. Padraig Harrington (winner US Open 2007, 2008, US PGA) tells us to track the ball on its way to the hole. Dave Stockton (winner US PGA 1970, 1976) tells us to keep our focus on a spot in front of the ball.

And bewilderingly, we’ve got Lexi Thompson (11 times winner of the LPGA Tour) telling us to close our eyes when we putt.

Good grief. They say different things – very different things. So what can we make of this mess? It appears our golfing giants are all doing their own thing. On a whim perhaps? Presumably it works for them. But we’re still no closer to knowing which is the best way to putt?

Well, science has something to offer you. And implausibly, so does keyhole surgery.

The problem with putting lies in evolution. It has conspired to make life difficult for you. It has equipped you with a mind ideally suited to spotting sabre-toothed tigers in the jungle. But not so well suited to dealing with the tranquillity of the putting green. Indeed, on the putting green your mind gets distracted as it’s still alert and on the lookout for those sabre-toothed tigers.

But there’s good news. If you understand how the mind works you can easily overcome the mind evolution has bequeathed you. And keyhole surgeons are already onto this. Now this might sound crazy but in the operating theatre they use the very technique you should use when you putt. Indeed, even if you’re already a highly skilled golfer, with this technique you can knock 2 putts off each round of golf.

This technique of keyhole surgeons and the technique you should be using are described in my ebook, What Keyhole Surgery can Teach Us about Golf. And How to Achieve Miracles on the Putting Green at the link, https://rogerwheller.com.au/product/what-keyhole-surgery-can-teach-us-about-golf/
